August 2021 marks the ninth Tradies National Health Month, an Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) awareness initiative, which focusses on the importance of tradies health.
Based on a 2019 APA Tradies Health Survey, research shows that 60% of tradies often have aches and pains as a result of their job, and that two-thirds of tradies agreed that they would be more inclined to stretch or warm-up before starting work if their employer prioritised it.
Andrew Dalwood heads the Industrial Physiotherapy team at Physioworks Health Group assisting with workplace initiatives to help prevent injury. The Physioworks physiotherapy team can provide health care advice for tradies; from on-site visits to employers of tradies to advice on workplace warm-up and worksite risk assessments.
