Physioworks Health Group Physiotherapist Amy Shipperd was the team physiotherapist for the elite Australian players at the recent 2025 Virtus World Tennis Championships.

Held in in Astana, Kazakhstan, the 2025 Virtus World Tennis Championships was a highly successful event for the Australian team. The Australian team won 3 gold medals, 7 silver and 2 bronze.

The event, featuring top-level competition for II1, II2 and II3 athletes, was organized by Kazakhstan Sports Federation for People with Intellectual Impairment- IDSport.

It was a busy event for Amy as team physio supporting & helping prepare the Australian players before each match and with their recovery post-match; and providing injury treatment for 7 out of 8 Australian athletes during the tournament.

With many athletes on court at the same time, Amy was also called on for her elite tennis playing and coaching experiences by coaching two matches, including the mixed doubles semi-finals, which the Australian team won 7-5 6-4. Go Amy!!
