A key focus of Physioworks Health Groups’ community partnerships is to support & assist the local leagues and their member clubs with the development of their player health care programs and practices, with a focus on player welfare, including injury prevention & management

In season 2019, Physioworks Health Group are the exclusive Physiotherapy and Allied Health Care partner of the West Gippsland Football Netball Competition (WGFNC), the Ellinbank & District Football League (EDFL), the South East Juniors (SEJ) and South Eastern Womans Football (SEWF).

Two recent education evenings were well attended by trainers and carers from these local community football and netball clubs at Physioworks Health Group Cranbourne and Physioworks Health Group Pakenham.

At the Trainers Education, Physioworks Director & Collingwood FC Head Physiotherapist David Francis along with members of the Physioworks health-care team held open Q&A sessions with discussion and demonstration ranging from taping & strapping, concussion, strength & conditioning, injury prevention, injury management and general fitness.

Physioworks Health Group Director David Francis said “Across our 25 years of service to the community a very important element is to assist local sporting clubs & leagues to improve the education, process and support relating to player welfare and injury management at local club level; thus ensuring ongoing involvement & participation in sport across our communities. An aim of our education sessions is to get all clubs & trainers thinking: “Are we looking after our players? Are we doing this right? What do we need to implement or change to help us improve and be successful?”
